FCA CHARGE CAMP

FCA CHARGE 2025!! Wow. God has shown me the importance of serving even when it feels you have nothing left to give, and to trust that he will meet me halfway! GOD I’m committed to seeking you in the quiet place, I’m committed to letting you break the walls I’ve built up to make life easier. If I had one take away from this week it would be “it’s in the pressing that God reveals something beautiful”. Thank you FCA for helping me grow and for preparing me for what's next!

It's in the difficult moments that God brings out the best in us. Let's not resist the pressure, but instead, let it shape us into something beautiful

FCA COACHES FAMILY CAMP

Check out FCA Florida's first year of Coaches Family Camp! From newborns to grandparents in their 80s, God brought generations together for four days of worship, rest, and growth as GLORY was unpacked and applied to the lives of all in attendance—“From my glory to His glory.”

Just like Psalm 145:4 says:"One generation will commend Your works to another; they will tell of Your mighty acts." We watched a GLORY shift—stories shared, the Bible taught, faith strengthened—a building a legacy of Christ-centered leadership planted across every age and stage that honors Him above all.

Thank you to every family who made this inaugural year unforgettable. This is just the beginning. God’s glory is shining through every generation, and we can’t wait to see what He does next!

We had a blast this summer with hundreds of coaches and athletes attending one of the following FCA Camps: College Camp, Team Football Camp, Lakeland Leadership Camp, St. Simon's Golf Camp, TobyMac Golf Camp, North Georgia Mountains FCA Golf Camp, Jim Reynolds FCA Golf Camp and Coaches Time Out.

Through the generosity of our donors, we raised more than $42,000 in camp scholarships and were able to impact 338 coaches and athletes this summer! Praise God!

It is our mission to lead every coach and every athletes into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. FCA Camps are an amazing vehicle to bring athletes and coaches closer to Jesus.

Thank to all who volunteer and partner with us in ministry! This all would not be possible without you!

NE FLORIDA FCA STUDENTS ATHLETES HEAD TO ISRAEL

In late December, Northeast Florida FCA student athletes Hayley Friedl and Olivia O’Leary, from Jacksonville University, joined 20 other athletes from around the country on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Israel. During their trip, Hayley and Olivia had the opportunity to tour the city of Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan River , as well as many other parts of Israel. Bible stories came to life as the two walked the streets of Jerusalem and stood in some of the same places where Jesus performed miracles.

Both Hayley and Olivia returned refreshed and strengthened in their faith! As the two continue to lead the JU campus huddle, this trip will forever be imprinted in their hearts and will bring others closer to Jesus Christ through their testimonies.

JAX Collegiate FCA is excited to send student athletes to Israel each year in hopes that more students will continue to develop their love for the nations and gain insight on the importance of missions.

We Are Made Complete in Christ

What started as a simple request from the principal for teachers to come up with ideas for a before-school club, turned into a life transformative experience for many students at Joseph Stilwell Military Academy of Leadership.

Melba J. Jackson, School Counselor at JSMAL, felt this was an important initiative and began brainstorming ways in which students can be more productive with their free time. She remembered her time in school where FCA was present on campus and loved the idea of kids having a safe space to grow and learn in God’s word and where they could interact and channel some of their energy towards something productive.

Middle school as we all know is a big season of transition and can be a difficult age socially. With social media and bullying at an all-time high, kids are managing many emotions. Melba takes the opportunity in her Huddles to remind her students of God’s promises, that we are created in His image and how we are made complete in Christ. When people say unkind things to us, how are we to respond? Jesus tells us to not retaliate, to not respond in anger, but to respond with love and that’s how you will win those people to you.

As her students are implementing these truths in their own lives, Melba is seeing them gain confidence and seeing a change in their overall decision making. They are stopping to think, what would Jesus do in this situation? Melba attests this transformative thinking to walking her students through The CORE. She allows the kids to read through the material and it opens up great conversation within the group, leading to deeper thinking.

God is certainly moving through Melba’s FCA Huddles and we are so grateful that Melba was obedient in the call to lead and share Jesus with her students. Melba is excited for what God has planned for this group and their lives.

If God continues bringing more and more students to her Huddle, the school has given her permission to use leadership classrooms that hold up to 55-60 students at a time. She also plans to raise leaders within her Huddles and to get officers and ministers involved to speak to the kids from their two supporting churches.

What is a Huddle?

As we seek to make disciples who make disciples, we engage, equip and empower coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same. We do this through many different ways and environments. We identify spaces and places to cultivate relationships— individually or in groups—and we use Christ-centered Huddles, events, training and resources.

Huddles are certified small group Bible studies/devotions for coaches and athletes organized by FCA. We host them at various locations on and off campus—wherever coaches and athletes choose to gather.

Who Are You Without Sports?

It’s a simple question and yet so complex. For many, sports is one of the first activities participated in after taking first steps. It’s where first friends are met. It’s where a sense of belonging is found and an understanding of what competition, discipline and winning/losing feels like. Sports is woven through grade school memories, and can even be the place where someone begins dreaming what it would be like to be Michael Jordan, Cristiano Ronaldo, Serena Williams, A-Rod or Tiger Woods. Sports at a young age can become part of every facet of life and deeply rooted in who someone is and becomes.

So when the question “who are you without sports” is raised amongst athletes, the question can become a bit overwhelming. Three weeks ago, this question was asked to middle school aged track athletes at an FCA Huddle led by Jill Benavides, FCA sponsor and world history teacher/track and field Coach at Fruit Cove Middle School. As Jill prepared for the Huddle, she began searching through FCA devotionals she had been given by an FCA staff member in order to find encouragement to share with her athletes. While doing so, she came across this question—Who are You Without Sports?—and it struck her deeply! She knew if it rattled her, it would likely do the same with her athletes. Sure enough, as Jill challenged them with this question, it rocked a few students and left them in tears. These students had no idea who they were without their sport. Their lives were intertwined with sports as long as they could remember. Now, sports had become the focal point of their future.

One athlete in particular had a moment of self-realization, sharing that she desired to be closer to God. She went on to make a commitment that night to grow closer to God. Jill reminded this athlete that she is defined by what God’s Word says, not what the world says; and nothing should replace her walk with God--not even sports. Although sports is a good thing, even good things can take our focus away from God, who desires to be 1 ^st place in our hearts. Our identities are in Christ first.

Incredibly, this same athlete felt God calling her to begin leading a girls Huddle. She led her first devotional with the same question, and by the end, three more girls gave their hearts to Christ! Jill was in awe of how God worked through the entire situation. That Huddle was supposed to have happened a week before, but something came up and it was delayed. Had it not been delayed; Jill wouldn’t have opened up the FCA devotional where God led her to that specific question. Had that question not been asked, her athletes may not have given their hearts to Christ that day. It’s amazing how God works!

Jill is now equipping leaders through FCA’s foundational discipleship curriculum, The CORE. As Jill takes her leaders through 8 CORE Essentials of the Christian faith in a text group, she is teaching her athletes how to apply what they are learning and how to use their testimonies to share Jesus with others. Jill reminds them that as they lead, they simply need to be who God has created them to be (not anyone else). In simply being who God created them to be, they will reach many athletes and minister more uniquely as God brings the opportunities.

The three girls that gave their hearts to Jesus have been given The CORE because they wanted to lead others through it. Jill sees these girls walking into “a position of Peter and Paul” as they step outside of their comfort zone to minister to others. Jill is encouraging them to listen to God’s voice in order to be used by Him, trusting that the Holy Spirit will prompt them in what they need to share with their peers. These three girls are helping other girls know that they are not alone as they share their own hardships and life experiences. Jill is excited to see how God will continue to use these three girls in His kingdom work as she watches them becoming stronger, more Godly women.

When COVID-19 hit in 2020, campus Huddles were paused as gathering restrictions came into place. Due to the pandemic, Jill and her husband Zeke started a running club that now leads 156 runners from 5 different schools. Months of isolation left many kids desperate to connect, so naturally the kids stayed late after practice and huddles began to form. Jill and Zeke are now facilitating 4 different Huddles that exist because of the pandemic! FCA praises God for the opportunity He created in the midst of difficulty. We also thank Jill and Zeke for their faithful stewardship and leading of what God has entrusted to them.

2021 THE PLAYERS Breakfast with the Pros

For 36 years, FCA has conducted a Breakfast with the Pros at THE PLAYERS. In light of all the precautions and recommendations in place due to COVID, FCA has made the decision to proceed with a virtually formatted breakfast for 2021.

Although the Breakfast will look and feel much different than ever before, we’re excited to continue this long tradition of bringing coaches and youth throughout the community together to meet and hear from their heroes, PGA Tour Professionals. We are excited to welcome those beyond our immediate Northeast Florida community this year as well in light of the virtual format.

Get excited for this year's annual ministry theme, PURSUE!

Every coach and athlete is pursuing something: earning a scholarship, winning a championship or landing a contract. As the stakes rise, the drive behind that pursuit intensifies. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but what if pursuing those things ultimately isn’t healthy or good for us in the long run? Join us this year as we dive into pursuing the things of God.

Over the first quarter of 2021, we will be focusing on Pursuing Truth. Pursuing the ultimate Truth can only be found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." - John 14:6

In a world that can make us feel like we don't know where we are going, Jesus shows us a greater truth that we can grab as we make a point to learn more about God by reading His Word.

If we want to improve our skills in our sport, it makes sense to spend time practicing and studying the game to become better. In the same way, our spiritual training should be exercised if we want to grow in Christ. This is why it's important to be in God's Word every day and Read the Truth .

IMPERATIVE: READ THE TRUTH

We’re always pursuing something--a championship, a personal best, a fit of belonging on our team or earning a scholarship--and we set our sights on the end prize and give our all to see our goals achieved.

In life, we do much the same--pursue relationships, promotions, meaning and accolades. Our human nature craves success. But to measure our success, we must know the standard and our anchoring point.

Over the next year, we’ll explore what it means to Pursue Truth, Life, Team and Mission. Each of these themes connect to engage in intentional pursuit of God and His great call on our lives.

For this, we start at the root of things: Truth.

Please partner with us in prayer this week in gratitude for those who make the ministry of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes possible. Without each of these groups of people, we would not be in a position to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

Partners | Thank You, Lord, for the individuals You have brought alongside the Fellowship of Christian Athletes to financially support each staff member and the ministry programs and initiatives they lead. May You continue to bless these individuals. May each of their hearts be deeply encouraged by the kingdom work they are giving to and helping build.

Volunteers | Lord, thank You for these front-line workers You have called and empowered in our schools and communities to minister day-in-day-out to our coaches and athletes. May You protect our volunteers from those who are opposed to the Gospel and encourage them by the fruit they see born out of the lives and relationships You allow them to steward before You.

Coaches & Athletes | Jesus, as we see Your Holy Spirit transforming the world through the influence of coaches and athletes, we thank You for the many lives You have engaged, equipped and empowered to go and become disciple makers. May each of them be "shrewd as serpents and harmless as doves" (Matthew 10:16) in their interactions with the world.

Please partner with us in prayer this week as we pray through FCA's ministry methods: Engage, Equip & Empower. As we do ministry to and through the coach, FCA's desire to make disciples who make disciples.

Engage | Grant your help and favor, Lord, as we connect to and developing relationships with coaches and athletes. Relationships are the foundation of disciple making. Lord, grant us wisdom in identifying spaces and places where coaches and athletes gather so that the Gospel can be shared with them and led into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

" Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved." -Romans 10:1

"We loved you so much that we shared with you no only God's Good News but our own lives, too." -1

Thessalonians 2:8

Equip | May coaches and athletes be discipled as they become part of the church (God's people universally and a local body; of believers) and receive from FCA through events, huddles, 1-on-1's, and Christ-centered tools and resources. As these athletes and coaches are equipped, may they be encouraged to lead others in their growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

"Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion... And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God's mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike." -Ephesians 6:18–19

Empower | Lord, as coaches and athletes are invited to lead and serve others in their sphere of influence, may Your Holy Spirit inspire them with vision for their fellow coaches and athletes and grant opportunities to create and facilitate ministry environments that engage others.

Prayer Day - Week of November 9

PLEASE PARTNER WITH US IN PRAYER THIS WEEK FOR:

Hope | Father, by your Spirit, disconnect our hearts, minds and lives from counterfeit hopes that were never intended to deliver that which only the Gospel of Jesus Christ can provide us. Strip the hope we place in the things of this world so that our hope may become eternally secure in the promises You have made to us.

"Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming." -1 Peter 1:13

"I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people." -Ephesians 1:18

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." -Hebrews 10:23

Healing | We don't have to look far to see people who are hurting, angry, and/or without hope. We don't even need to look further than ourselves if we're honest. 2020 has been hard. Lord, start with me. I open myself, my hurts, anger, confusion, misplaced hope, lack of hope, etc. to You. Hurt people hurt others. Heal my hurts, wounds and confusion so that I can better love my neighbor and share your healing hope with the world around me.

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." -Psalms 147:3

"LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me." -Psalms 30:2

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." -John 14:27

"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." -James 5:6

Unity | The Gospel reveals that we are all created equal, sinful, and equally in need of the saving work of Christ. The shed blood of Jesus reconciles God to humanity and humanity to each other. Holy Spirit, change hearts throughout our land, temper divisiveness, build unity, allow true justice to prevail, and motivate heartfelt compassion in each of us. Help us as your followers to love others well, showing respect by managing our demeanor, avoiding fruitless arguments, and empathizing with others to see life from their lens. Whether the issue is petty or prominent, Holy Spirit, help us love people first (over our opinions) by representing Jesus well through our love, respect and empathy--all covered with equal parts truth and grace.

"There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." -Galatians 3:28

"...then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves..." -Philippians 2:2-3

This week we're pulling back the curtain to pray for FCA's ministry workers. FCA Donors make ministry possible by funding FCA programs, resources and staff. FCA Board Members are key volunteers who supports the ministry by leveraging their influence through prayer, serving, and giving--one of the primary pillars of ministry & financial stability; as well as ministry growth. FCA Volunteers are a significant part of the FCA ministry, involved in every aspect of ministry, trained by FCA staff to make an impact engaging, equipping, and empowering coaches and athletes in their community. FCA Staff are the leaders in their communities leading coaches and athletes into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

Would you join us in asking the Lord to:

Strengthen their personal walk with Him (identity)
Grow them in greater love for Jesus, His word, and the place of prayer
Grant wisdom and revelation
Protect and bless marriages, kids, family, etc.
Grow them in their leadership--the way Jesus would lead

Health & Safety in Our Schools | Join us in praying for the health and safety of NE Florida school students, faculty, coaches and administrators.

Perseverance & Wisdom | School faculty and administration continue working longer and harder than ever before as a result of the pandemic. Some administration have expressed a deep burden for virtual students who are failing their classes and/or dropping out of school completely as a result of COVID-19 challenges.

Many students, faculty, coaches and administrators are overwhelmed, exhausted, in need of wisdom, strength and perseverance. Lord, provide renewed strength, grace and peace by your Spirit in the midst of this chaotic time as we look to You.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:18

“but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” ‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:31‬

Unity vs. Division | Lord, help me to best fight the things that make me less human and make others less than human to me. May you help me live a life worthy of all that you’ve called me into, Jesus. May we as Christians love others well, show respect by managing our demeanor, avoid fruitless arguments, and empathize with others to see life from their lens. Whether the issue is petty or prominent, Holy Spirit, help us love people first (over our opinions) by representing Jesus well through our love, respect and empathy all covered with equal parts truth and grace.

Leadership & Perseverance of School Administration & Faculty | Faculty and administration of schools are working longer and harder than ever before due to the challenges and conditions surrounding COVID-19. When asked, these leaders admit to being overwhelmed, exhausted, in need of wisdom, strength and perseverance in the face of criticism for the hard decisions being made. As these exhausted leaders continue leading through such an abnormal school year, may the Lord provide them renewed strength, grace and peace in the midst of chaos. May students’ families extend loving support, encouragement and grace.

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27

Gun Violence Increase in Jacksonville | Over the past several days and weeks there has been a noticeable increase in gun related violence and death. Join us in praying for protection over our city, its neighborhoods, as well as the families and people affected by these senseless crimes.

Division in Our World | In a world that seems more and more divided as each day passes, may we as Christians love others well, show respect by managing our demeanor, avoid fruitless arguments, and empathize with others to see life from their lens. Whether the issue is petty or prominent, Holy Spirit, help us love people first (over our opinions) by representing Jesus well through our love, respect and empathy all covered with equal parts truth and grace.

“Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:14

My Own Holiness | Lord, help me to best fight the things that make me less human and make others less than human to me. May you help me live a life worthy of all that you’ve called me into, Jesus.

Revival | Holy Spirit, move in a way that can only be credited to you. Stir in the hearts of men and women and lead us back into a right standing relationship with you. Campus Huddles Meeting Again | We are overjoyed that particular campus huddles are able to meet again. Join us in praying for protection over these student leaders and coaches as they gather in Christ’s name. May these huddles provide respite from the stresses of the world; strengthen and embolden Christians on our campuses; and reach lost souls with the hope of the Gospel found only in and through Jesus Christ.

“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” -Hebrews 10:25

Those Battling COVID-19 | Our NE Florida FCA team was saddened to learn of a COVID death late last week amongst our NE Florida family of ministry partners. Join us in praying for comfort over this family—and to all who have lost loved ones and/or are struggling through the difficult effects of this virus.

Mental Health & Wellness Webinar | Due to circumstances out of our control, we are having to postpone the Sports Mental Health and Wellness Webinar originally scheduled for tomorrow evening, October 6th. Please keep Dr. Blyth (our presenter) in your prayers as he navigates a difficult event.

As we look to reschedule this webinar, pray that the topics addressed such as anxiety, depression, fear, isolation, lack of motivation, and how to cope, would meet coaches and athletes where they currently are and grant them an eternal and sustainable Hope found only in Jesus Christ.

Parental Wisdom & Discernment | Grant parents the eyes, ears and hearts to clearly discern with wisdom if/how their child is struggling (spiritually, mentally, socially, academically, etc.). May parents seek the Lord first on how to best handle these situations.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” -James 1:5

NE Florida FCA Coaches Steering Team | Join us in praying for our newly assembled coaches steering team as these area coaches help lead out ministry to coaches and athletes across NE Florida. Pray that God would use these men and women to lead other coaches into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

Compassion | May Christians be marked by the compassion God the Father has shown to each of us in Christ. 2020 is hard—for everyone. Being a kid is hard. Being a teenager is hard. Balancing school work with social pressures, dealing with family dynamics and friend issues—our students are undoubtedly going through a lot. Some are going through situations that we have no idea about. May the Lord lead us to compassion for our students. Empower us Lord to be your hands and feet with a compassionate attitude and words.

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” -Ephesians 4:32

Perfecting Holiness | The Church at Corinth had became entangled in sinful behaviors, beliefs and attitudes. And although there is no way to completely separate ourselves from sin, it’s impact, and influence this side of Heaven, may the Spirit continue to perfect us in holiness as we resist the sin around us, not giving up or giving in. Consecrate us Lord, setting us apart for your purpose and glory!

"Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God." -2 Corinthians 7:1

Jesus = The Winning Play | “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’ (John 14:6). May the chaos and confusion of this world direct the eyes of coaches, athletes and all whom they influence to see Jesus as the only winning play today and everyday.

School Environment Struggles | Lord, meet your children who are struggling through adjustments and restrictions school districts have instituted (examples include face masks, dividers, no playing outside for recess, etc.). We know students are already growing weary, facing a great deal of anxiety and not looking forward to going to school. Meet them in their disappointment, difficulty and need. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed” (Psalm 34:18).

Youth & Young Adult Suicide | The National Center for Health Statistics released a sobering report last Thursday that suicide rates among youth ages 10 to 24 increased by 57% in the past decade. As reported, there is reason to believe suicide rates will increase this year too, not just because of COVID but because stress and anxiety seem to be permeating every aspects of our lives. May the Lord call and send out more parents, coaches, faculty and fellow peers into the harvest so that all may know the hope and love of Jesus. “Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field’ (Matthew 9:37-38).”

Fear & Anxiety | Coaches, Parents and Students all find themselves in “different places” regarding the current condition of our world, while also going back to school this week (or in the weeks to come). Join us in praying for those who are struggling with fears and anxieties of the unknown. Join us in praying Philippians 4:6-7: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Athletic & School Leadership | As “return plans” to schools and sports continue to be clarified and announced, may education and athletic leaders at the national, state, county and local school levels truly lead in their wisdom and decision making. May the Lord continue to show Himself faithful in granting wisdom to our leaders as they ask (James 1:5-8).

NE Florida Community Health | Many individuals and families in our community are dealing with stresses, anxiety, pain or loss due to COVID-19. Lord, please comfort, reassure and guide during these challenging times. “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).

FCA Ministry Planning | As our staff continues to pray, reflect, hear from the Lord, and collaborate together in planning for the 2020-2021 ministry year, join us in praying that the Spirit would be in our midst, leading our planning, and granting us creativity and wisdom to further fulfill the FCA vision and mission as we lead coaches and athletes into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church during the coming ministry year.

Athletic Leadership | As “return plans” to schools and sports continue to be clarified and announced, may leaders in athletics at the national, state, county and local school levels truly lead in their wisdom and decision making. May the Lord continue to show Himself faithful in granting wisdom to our leaders as they ask (James 1:5-8).

Stresses and Pressures on Coaches | Keeping athletes healthy is the number one priority of coaches. Yet, as teams attempt to get back in the game, the tension of balancing the heath of each team member vs. building a winning program marked by team unity (through the traditional means of practice, training and competition) is creating stress and a great challenge. Fear is a growing reality in the life of coaches who wonder what might happen if proper health procedures are followed, yet a player still is infected with COVID-19.

Unity in the Midst of Divisiveness | The Gospel reveals that we are all created equal, sinful, and equally in need of the saving work of Christ. The shed blood of Jesus reconciles God to humanity and humanity to each other. Pray that the Holy Spirit would change hearts throughout our land, temper divisiveness, build unity, allow true justice to prevail, and motivate heartfelt compassion.

Staff Planning Day | Today the NE Florida FCA Team is meeting together to pray, reflect, hear from the Lord, and collaborate as we begin laying plans for the 2020-2021 ministry year. Pray that the Spirit would be in our midst, leading our discussion and granting wisdom to further fulfill the FCA vision and mission as we lead coaches and athletes into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church during the coming ministry year.

Summer Camps | Even though all FCA overnight camps have been cancelled this summer due to COVID-19, many camps are still possible in a day camp style format. Pray that God would open the right doors for us to host our annual team camp and that athletes and coaches would be receptive to the Gospel. Pray that restrictions would continue to loosen and that people exercise wisdom in relationships & gatherings so that FCA’s summer plans can succeed.

Athletes & Coaches | As athletes and coaches are eager to get back into their summer routines with practices & workouts, may wisdom, safety and protection prevail over them.

Our Country | As followers of Christ, join NE Florida FCA in praying for the United States of America. There are sins—including racism—that we must repent of, bridges we need to build, and communities we need to help.

FCA’s Witness | Would Team FCA’s witness during this time be one marked by faith, hope, and love. Listen to those around you—especially those who are marginalized, those who are hurting. Show empathy, be compassionate, and mourn with those who mourn. The hope of our nation is the message of the Gospel of Jesus and the values of the Kingdom of God carried in love and compassion by His people.

Families Impacted by Racial Injustice | Join us in praying for families, friends and loved ones impacted and affected by the heinous acts of racial injustice. Pray for our leadership and law enforcement agencies as well, as they seek to protect life, property, and restore order.

The Gospel reveals that we are all created equal, sinful, and equally in need of the saving work of Christ. The shed blood of Jesus reconciles God to humanity and humanity to each other. Pray that the Holy Spirit would change hearts throughout our land, temper divisiveness, build unity, allow true justice to prevail, and motivate heartfelt compassion—especially now for all those in the black community who have been harmed by the prejudice or apathy of others. FCA Prayer Day - Week of June 8

Unity in the Midst of Divisiveness | We are sickened by the racist acts and tragedy our country continues to face. As we recognize the many who have died or been treated unjustly in our nation, we weep with these families and the greater black community, and we take time to mourn (Romans 12:15; Ecc. 3:4). The sadness and tragedy faced is a devaluation of human life, those who carry the very image of God inside of them (Psalm 139:13-14; Gen 1:27).

Wisdom for those in Leadership | For any and all people in positions of leadership at local, state and fedral levels as well as within our school systems and sports communities who are working tirelessly to lead smart & safe re-openings across NE Florida, our state, and the nation.

FCA Virtual Coaches Camp | Over 1,100 coaches throughout the SE registered for FCA’s first-ever virtual coaches camp, May 27-29, 2020. We had a tremendous three days of ministry pouring into coaches spiritually, relationally (marriage & family) and professionally. Please join us in praying for continued transformation in the lives of these coaches as a result of what began last week and as FCA staff all throughout the SE continue to follow up with these coaches in the days and weeks to come! May the Holy Spirit initiate a ripple effect of faith, hope and love in the lives of these coaches, their families, athletes, and teams for many years to come.
